Student artists honored at Parkersburg Art Center reception

PARKERSBURG W.Va, (WTAP)- Around 80 local students have had their artwork on display at the Parkersburg Art Center since the beginning of April.

Sunday afternoon, they were given awards for their work that was judged by credible experts in the area.

Displaying the student’s art is a tradition that organizers believe is an important form of expression.

“The creativity is there for all of us, we just don’t always have a chance to express it or to show it. There’s so much that can come out that’s so beautiful,”says Kay Mason, county art coordinator for the “Expressions” exhibit.

Sunday was the final day the student work was on display.
