UPDATE: Suspect charged after Gallia County shooting

A man involved in a Gallia County shooting on Monday has been been charged and arraigned.

Zachariah Jones, 34, is charged with one count of Felonious Assault, according to a statement from Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin.

Jones remains in the custody of the Gallia County Sheriff's office, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing.

A suspect is in custody after a shooting in Gallia County early Monday morning.

According to a statement from Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin, Zachariah Jones, 34, of Crown City, Ohio was identified in the shooting, which occurred at the home of the victim, Michael Miller, 44, also of Crown City.

Champlin said Miller walked to a neighbor's house after shooting, which happened about 3 a.m. He was taken to a Huntington area trauma center.

Champlin also said the shooting happened during a "domestic-related situation."

The investigation is ongoing, and charges against Jones are pending, according to the sheriff's office.
