PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday to celebrate The Arc of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s new office space.

The Arc, which provides services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, moved its main offices to 1917 Dudley Avenue, right next to one of their thrift stores.

Arc employees and the board of directors held a small open house after the ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon. Visitors were treated to a quick tour around the offices and light refreshments.

The Arc’s executive director, Liz Ford, said that a grant from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation allowed them to clean up the building, which was donated by the PM Company.

“It’s important for our program to have this new building because it frees up money that we otherwise use toward rent to allow us to provide more services and programs for individuals and to provide supports as well,” said Ford.
