The Mountaineer Food bank is back for the holidays

WASHINGTON, W. Va. The Mountaineer Food Bank team up with Chemours and United Way for the second time for its mobile food pantry just in time for the holidays.

Hundreds of families pulled up and popped their trunks to be filled with produce.

The pantry was filled with 35,000 lbs of food and that is double in size from the last one.

"There's a lot of people struggling all year long, we know that a lot of people have trouble putting food on their tables," said Morrison, executive director, Mountaineer Food Bank. "And right before the holidays is a really hard time because of that sense of family and we want to make sure people are taken care of."

Chemours is happy to share its space and volunteers to help out the community.

The food pantry was able to feed over 500 families.

The next Mountaineer mobile food pantry will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on December 12th at Chemours,
