PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP) - The 71st annual book sale at Trinity Episcopal Church began on Monday. The church began the sale in 1949, making it the longest running book sale in the area.
It typically brings out people of all ages from the community, and thousands of books of all genres are available all week.
The church's mission is to celebrate reading and keep recycled books in the community.
"Of course we raise funds to help charitable organizations in the community as well as supporting the church. We really like the fact that we're able to just get people in our church to see what's going on," said Father Hicks, Trinity Episcopal Church.
