Jared P. Irvin, charged with a fatal accident last November in New Matamoras, is sentenced to four years in prison and a lifetime drivers license suspension.

Jared P. Irvin, charged with a fatal accident last November in New Matamoras, pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated vehicular homicide in Washington County Common Pleas Court.
He faces a maximum prison term of 8 years, and a maximum fine of $15,000 when he is sentenced September 24.

Troopers release the name of a woman killed in a crash in Washington County on Friday night.
The victim is Barbara S. Wilcox, of New Matamoras, Ohio.
The 3-vehicle crash happened on State Route 7 near mile post 51 in New Matamoras at 8 p.m. on Friday.
Troopers say Jared Irvin, of New Matamoras, was operating a 2004 Buick LeSabre northbound on State Route 7 when he failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and collided with a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Wilcox. Wilcox's vehicle overturned and she sustained fatal injuries.
Officers say Irvin's vehicle also struck a Newport Volunteer Fire Department ambulance that was traveling south on State Route 7. The ambulance had a patient on board.
Irvin and the occupants of the ambulance sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a crash in New Matamoras.
Troopers confirm an ambulance and two personal cars were involved.
Troopers are still on scene as of 10:16 p.m. Friday.

Ohio State Highway Patrol says troopers are responding to a three-vehicle accident.
It happened at 8:00 p.m. on State Route Seven and Cline Street in New Matamoras.
