BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) - A young boy in Belpre dressed up as a police officer for Halloween after an officer helped get him out of a locked vehicle.
Henry Ellison's love for police started in September. His mother, Amy, said she accidentally locked him inside her car on a hot day. She immediately called police and a sergeant with Belpre Police showed up within 2 or 3 minutes and got Henry out of the car.
Since then, her 2-year-old son has fully supported the men in blue.
"Every day he wants to be a policeman, go the policeman's house, and every time he hears a siren or anything, it's all policeman," Amy said.
Therefore, it was a no-brainer come Halloween when it was time for Henry to pick out a costume. When he was trick-or-treating, he even got the attention of a Belpre police officer.
"An officer stopped by and made his whole night he talked about that policeman all night," she said.
Amy does not know what her son will be when he grows up but she has this message for her son.
"Even though the media can sometimes show what some negative police have done the majority of them have a good heart and are here to help us," she said.
