COOLVILLE, Ohio (WTAP) - Both lanes of U.S. Route 50 in Coolville are reopened after a tractor-trailer crash that closed all lanes of U.S. Route 50 Friday afternoon.
As of 6:20 PM Friday, one Eastbound lane of U.S. Route 50 in Coolville has reopened after a tractor-trailer crash that closed all lanes of U.S. Route 50 earlier Friday.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says the crash happened at 2:00 PM Friday, when a truck carrying vanilla extract rolled over at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Township Road 119 in Coolville, spilling a large barrel of vanilla extract all over the road.
Firefighters from Coolville responded to the crash, and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is on its way to the scene, because the vanilla extract is flammable.
Police say the truck driver was injured in the crash and is being treated at O'Blenness Hospital in Athens.
There is no estimated time for when U.S. Route 50 will reopen.
