Tree falls on car during MOV storms

PARKERSBURG, W.Va.-(WTAP) Thursday night's storms knocked down trees throughout the Parkersburg area.

One such incidence resulted in a potentially dangerous situation for the occupants of a moving vehicle.

A tree fell on top of a car on Riverview Drive.

The vehicle's driver spoke to us after they all were rescued.

All of the sudden, all I could see was green and I heard a loud… smash," Mike Tuchey told our Zach Shrivers, "and I stopped and called 9-1-1 because there was power lines down, they always say don't get out of your vehicle."

No one inside the vehicle was injured.

Downed trees and power lines, as well as non-functioning traffic signals, were the reason for traffic tie-ups in the city, particularly along Murdoch Avenue.
