The Ohio Department of Higher Education recently awarded the grant to Washington State Community College as part of the Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills (RAPIDS) grant.
The grant will allow WSCC's Electrical Engineering and Industrial Technology programs, and the Washington County Career Center's Instrumentation and Electricity programs, to partner to upgrade labs with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) trainers, robotics and automation trainers, and tools for electrical technician training.
Washington State Community College also says it plans to use the new equipment to start a new Robotics and Mechatronics program in the future.
