PARKERSBURG, W.Va (WTAP)- For two local mothers, this Mother’s Day has changed their lives forever.
Shelby Billings became a mother on Saturday, just in time for her first Mother’s Day.
“I’m really excited. It’s cool that my first Mother’s Day is- I’m with my brand new baby and my mom was there with me and my sister so all the main mothers in my life got to spend Mother’s Day with me and my baby so that’s pretty awesome.”
Shannon Silva also had a baby on Saturday, adding her fourth child to the family.
“It’s pretty special, anytime it is really…The realization that he is here and he’s just so perfect. It’s just a gift from God,” she says.
As for the future, for these little boys, it starts on a day when their moms are celebrated for simply being themselves.
“It’s all really new being a mom but I’m pretty excited about it. I think I got this. At first I wasn’t so sure but…I think I got this,” notes Billings.
The boys were born at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center only a few hours apart.
Both babies and mothers are doing well.
