Over in Athens County, two neighbors are behind bars after over 100 marijuana plants are found.

Both Charles Ruth and Richard Russell of Athens face cultivation and possession of marijuana charges.

After receiving a tip, the Athens County Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Major Crimes Unit conducted a search warrant at a residence on Marion Johnson Road.

When searching the inside of the home, they found over 100 marijuana plants inside a "grow room", along with six more plants outside.

Law enforcement seized all of the grow operation items, and four firearms.

While on scene, investigators made contact with a neighbor, who gave them consent to search the inside of their home.

After searching that home, officials found remnants of a grow operation, several containers of marijuana, and a firearm.

Both men have been charged, and the case now heads to the grand jury.
The press release is not clear about which home each man lives in.
