Two parked cars struck by another vehicle
There are no serious injuries reported in a three-vehicle accident early Friday afternoon in Marietta.
Police say the driver of one vehicle briefly lost consciousness and went out of control, striking two parked vehicles.
It happened in the 400 block of Third Street, between Scammel and Wooster Streets.
The driver, Ronald Science, 52, is believed to have had a medical condition. Capt. Aaron Nedeff of the police department says there was no evidence of drug or alcohol use.
The owner of the two parked cars told reporter Michael Tatar he heard the crash from his bedroom.
"Heard a huge smash, got up," said Brandon Richards, "thought 'oh boy', looked out the window and this guy's car was underneath the back of mine which then smashed into the back of my fiancee's car. He had to have been going at least 40 or 50 (miles an hour). It was loud."
Science was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say he was cited for failure to maintain control.
