WOOD COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - A car wreck involving four vehicles sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to law enforcement, a white pickup truck heading north on Emerson Avenue rear-ended a black Chevrolet SUV near Emerson Commons. From there, a silver Hyundai sedan was hit and a white Ford SUV was also rear-ended.

The driver of the pickup and one other person were transported to Camden Clark Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

Others were able to stay on scene.

“A little bit of whiplash, and the seat belt kind of got me across the waist. Air bag didn’t hit me thankfully. That’s pretty much it,” said Kristin Beckmeyer, a passenger in the Hyundai.

Deputy Marlow with the Wood County Sheriff's office says traffic was only slowed for a short time, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office and the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department were among first responders at the scene.
