MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP): Two months after its former police captain retired, Marietta names his replacement.

If he accepts the jobs, Ronald Greg Nohe will be the next Marietta police captain.

Nohe and Len Richie both tested for the police position, and Nohe came out with the higher score.

Marietta's police chief says both candidates are extremely qualified.

"Both of them would bring special skills and special qualities to the job," said Marietta Police Chief Rod Hupp. "And I was ready to go with either one of them. I've known both of them. I've worked with them. In fact, both of them were part of my training when I started."

Hupp expects to swear in Nohe within the next two weeks.
