OSHP Troopers say a 2-vehicle fatal crash happened at 4:22 AM on Ohio Route 60 at mile post 14, near the intersection of Township Road 275/Buttermilk Hill Road.

Investigators say James M. Norman, 44, of McConnelsville, was driving a 2012 Kia northbound on Ohio Route 60 when he crashed into a southbound tractor-trailer that was backing into a private driveway.

The tractor-trailer, driven by Charles E. Haynes, 52, of Youngstown, Ohio, was carrying liquid nitrogen, but none of it spilled or leaked in the crash.

Norman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Haynes was not hurt.

According to investigators, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The M&M Fire & EMS team, Malta Fire Department, Muskingum County All-Hazards Rescue Team, ODOT, Morgan County Sheriff's Office, EMA and Coroner's Office all responded to the crash.
