Route 2 re-opens after vehicle fire near Belmont

BELMONT, W.Va. (WTAP) - UPDATE: 03/14/19 1 P.M.

Route 2 in Pleasants County has re-opened after being closed for about 30 minutes Thursday morning because of a vehicle fire, authorities said.

The Belmont Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire north of Belmont about 11:30 a.m., and the road was re-opened by noon, according to the Pleasants County 911 center.

Authorities said the vehicle was "fully involved" when fire crews arrived, but there were no injuries.

A section of Route 2 in Pleasants County is currently closed in both directions because of a vehicle fire, authorities said.

The affected area is north of Belmont, according to the Pleasants County 911 center.
