VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) - Vienna city employees will be getting pay raises during the next fiscal year.
City council members approved a $1-an-hour raise for all full-time hourly employees and a $2-an-hour increase for police officers.
Merit raises of $3,000 for three individuals were tabled until the next regularly scheduled council meeting because there was confusion over whether the raises were over and above the initial raise.
In other action, council members voted 4-2 against an ordinance that would have made it illegal to feed deer in the city limits and established fines for each citation.
It's possible the proposal could be revised and reconsidered at a later date.
Council also heard a request that a more-detailed agenda for meetings be prepared and made public ahead of future meetings.
