Local credit union donates $10,000 to Humane Society of Parkersburg
A local business continues to give back to the Mid-Ohio Valley.
The West Virginia Central Credit Union presented a $10,000 check and donated supplies to the Humane Society of Parkersburg. The credit union is granting a total of $60,000 to charities voted on by its staff.
Whitney Dabbelt is the marketing strategist for the union. She says she appreciates the work done by the animal shelter.
"I'd just like to thank the Humane Society for doing everything that they do for the animals in need," she said.
"They're always willing to open their doors to any animals that come and they're always welcoming. You can really see the love on their faces and in the hearts for each of these animals."
Some other organizations that have received donations from the credit union are the Latrobe Street Mission and the Lubeck Community Cupboard.
