UPDATE: WVU Medicine provides details on visitation requirements for each hospital department
WVU Medicine has begun relaxing visitation restrictions that were put into place at its hospitals and clinics as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the specific details regarding visitation requirements by department have been released.
Those requirements are as follows:
Adult inpatient visitation:
-One designated visitor per day from 12 P.M. to 7 P.M.
-One visitor may be permitted for 30 minutes at the time of admission.
-One visitor may be permitted at time of discharge to receive discharge teaching or instruction.
-Visitors must obtain, wear, and return the specific visitor badge upon entering and exiting the building, only one pass per patient per day.
-Visitor must stay in the patient room the entire time, once they leave the room they exit the building and return their pass.
-Exception guidelines will remain in place at other times.
Adult outpatient diagnostics:
-No visitors to accompany patient except per exception guidelines.
Adult outpatient procedural (same day/cath lab):
-One visitor may accompany patient for outpatient procedures
-Certain restrictions may apply
Obstetrics/mom and baby
-Visitation permitted: one adult visitor will be allowed daily from 12 P.M. to 7 P.M. in addition to the support person.
-Support person may stay overnight.
-Two approved visitors per day at bedside
Outpatient clinics and physician offices:
-One visitor is permitted with each patient visit
-One visitor will be allowed per patient, two visitors if pediatric patient
-No visitors under the age of 18 permitted
-Exceptions may be made in special circumstances
-All visitors will be required to stay in the patient's room

WVU Medicine has begun relaxing the visitation restrictions that were put into place at its hospitals and clinics as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The updated general visitation guidelines include:
All visitors will be screened and must wear masks at all times. Those who screen positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to visit.
Visitors must enter through designated entrances at each clinical site.
Visitors must obtain, wear, and return a badge upon entering and exiting the building.
Social distancing requirements must be maintained.
There will be no visitation for patients under investigation or positive for COVID-19, unless other criteria are met.
Visitors to inpatients must remain in the patient’s room while on campus. Visitors will not be permitted to travel to common areas, such as the cafeteria or gift shop.
Visitors accompanying patients in ambulatory, procedural, or ancillary sites must stay in the exam/procedure room or designated area or may be asked to wait in their vehicles to maintain distancing parameters.
Clinical staff may request that visitors not be present in areas with limited space.
