WVUP Students host baby shower for new infant simulator; benefits local charities

PARKERSBURG W.Va, (WTAP)- The WVUP Nursing Program hosted a baby shower for a new infant simulator to fundraise for Kelly’s Closet and the Riverhawk Food Pantry.

Nursing students in the program showed off their facilities and simulation equipment that is helping them get a leg up on emergency situations in a learning-friendly environment.

“They get experiences with kids who are really sick, but they’re in a safe setting, a safe environment, and they have that opportunity where they don’t have it in the clinical facility here in the area,” explains Kathy Frum, chair of the nursing and health sciences division.

Nursing students at WVUP were actively demonstrating and engaging in simulations throughout the baby shower event.
