MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - The Washington County Behavioral Health Board announced it will be moving to a new location in the next month.
At this week's county commission meeting, officials stated the board will be moving from 244 Muskingum Drive across the river to 1115 Gilman Avenue, the current home of Job and Family Services.
This move comes after JFS finalized plans last month to consolidate into one location with children services at its offices at 204 Davis Avenue.
Behavioral health board staff say the move comes at a good time as they are expanding in the near future.
"We are growing here with the levy passage," executive director David Browne, "and a lot more projects are going on, we're outgrowing our space here."
"We knew we needed a larger space, larger meeting room and when we heard that Gilman avenue was going to be available, we took interest in that."
Browne added they estimate the move will be complete by the end of July.
