MARIETTA OH, (WTAP)- The Washington County commission met earlier this morning and began discussing their plan for the merger between Jobs and Family Services as the county's public children services agency.
The director of the JFS must develop a fiscal transition plan within 30 days and an implementation plan by January 24.
At the meeting, the JFS director said that there are purposeful openings in the agency that will be used to blend the two groups in the merger.
“The department of Job and Family Services went on a hiring freeze so that, as we went through natural attrition, there would be openings available here so that we can blend the two agencies,” explains Jobs and Family Services Director Flite Freimann.
The two agencies must fully integrate by April 1, 2019.
