PARKERSBURG, W.Va (WTAP)- Friday afternoon, West Virginia University at Parkersburg organized a brunch as a thoughtful way to say thank you to some influential community members.
The “Love You a Brunch” event was organized to thank dozens of influential women in the Parkersburg community.
The event included women, who ranged from philanthropists to artists, where honored at the Oakland Mansion in Parkersburg for their dedication to education. Organizers say that this is a small way to thank those who have worked to influence the community.
“These women give so much to the university themselves. They’re always working in collaboration with us to make sure out students are hears and listened to, to make sure our faculty and staff always has a place in their organizations. Let us honor you for your contributions and always being willing to help us further the greatest cause, which is education,” says David Creel, Director of Special Projects at WVUP.
Organizers say that there were around 40 honorees in attendance at the event.
