PARKERSBURG W.Va (WTAP)- Parkersburg held their annual Christmas parade Saturday afternoon and the downtown area hosted a number of family friendly events after.
Winterfest took place all throughout downtown Parkersburg this evening. Some of the events include face painting, kids crafts, and pictures with Santa. Organizers of the festivities say that it is important to bring people together to support the community.
“It’s important to bring vitality to downtown and bring people together at Christmas time especially, but we like to support our businesses that are downtown and this is a great way to do that. Every event that we do brings people to downtown which gives those businesses more exposure,” Wendy Shriver, the executive director of Downtown PKB, explains.
The Christmas tree downtown was just before 6:30 and was a fireworks show as well.
