MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WTAP) - Mason County authorities are investigating after a woman is hit by a train Monday morning in New Haven, West Virginia.
The accident reportedly happened around 10 a.m. on Monday morning.
New Haven Police Chief David Hardwick says a female in her mid-40s was possibly intoxicated, and stumbled onto the tracks and was struck. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Hardwick says the train was going about 15 miles per hour and tried to stop but he says it looks like the woman stumbled into the path of the train.
