The woodcarver’s work was on display at the Parkersburg Art Center on Saturday.

There were live wood carving demonstrations open to the community to introduce people to the unique art. There were about ten members of the thirty member group at the event to showcase their talent. They were also available to discuss the materials and tools needed to begin woodcarving.

“People that are interested in carving can stop by, learn a little bit, peak their interest, or even get started carving,” explains Fred Esker, a member of the Geppetto Woodcarvers.

The group meets on the second Saturday of every Month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Woodcraft store on Emerson and on Thursday afternoons for open carving.
