PARKERSBURG W.Va, (WTAP)- Kelly Goedel was officially hired to the position a few weeks ago and has a background working in human services.
She says that she is looking forward to having a consistent community presence and focusing on meeting the needs of the senior citizens in the area.
“There are a number of senior citizens n Wood County that do not have regular access to food or transportation and/or care. So we’re really looking to get some outreach out there and really focus on those folks and to add value to their lives and give them some dignity and independence,” plans Goedel.
“We are very happy to have Kelly on board to join us as partners in serving the senior citizens of Wood County. We have gone through a lot of transition in the last three to five years…well look forward now to moving to the next phase of who we are and what we want to do for this county,” notes Michael Seely, President of the Board of Directors for the Wood County Senior Citizens Association.
It took the board a year to select the best candidate for the executive director position.
