The Wood County Society partnered with Sway Studio and Spa for its first sensory sensitive haircuts to people with autism and other disabilities in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

A sensory sensitive individual can be bothered by certain sounds, sights, smells, textures, and tastes and can cause a person to become overwhelmed.

The salon offered ten dollar haircuts for those individuals.

"It's something that most people may not realize it may not be as readily available like it is to others without disabilities, so doing something like that is really important," said Donna Spires, cosmetologist, Sway Studio and Spa.

The Wood County Society plans to do many more sensory sensitive events in the future.
