Reuben “Butch” Montgomery, 75, of Lower Salem, OH passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 10, 1943 in Washington Co., OH to the late Earl Fredrick and Edna Simon Montgomery.
Butch had worked for Fenton Art Glass and worked as an electrician for various companies for many years. He was a member of BPO Elks #477, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1823. He loved hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, bowling and watching Nascar and football.
He is survived by two daughters, Sonnie Byers (Bill) and Teresa Montgomery (Stephanie Murphy); grandson, Lee Byers (Janetta Lang) all of Whipple; his dog, Tabby; four brothers, Warren, Fred, Roger and Richard Montgomery; three sisters, Polly Cotsaradis, Myrna Wardeska, Darlene Sue Stull and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Norman and Eddie.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his hospice nurse, April McColl and the staff of Medical Associates of Cambridge for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with a celebration of life to follow at the Elks Club, 414 Colegate Dr., Marietta.
