James Wesley Yeater, 73, of Waverly passed away February 12, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1946 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Clyde A. and Anna F. Exline Yeater. He as retired as a Pipefitter with Union Local 565 of Parkersburg. He was a US Marine Corps veteran. He was an avid WVU Mountaineers basketball and football fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR and Westerns and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
James is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Nelson (John) of Waverly and Loretta Cain (Calvin) of McConnelsville, OH; one son, James Yeater, Jr of Belpre; four step-daughters, Lisa Phillips, Belinda LeBar, Jonda Douglas and Misty Rummer; three grandchildren, Kristen, Ricky and Logan; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Aiden and Austen; nephews, Larry Yeater, Tim Yeater and niece, Cyndia Guinn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy and Alice Yeater; and four brothers, Lawrence, Robert, Wayne and Darrell Yeater.
Funeral services will be Noon, Monday February 17, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., with Pastor David Carrico officiating. Full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
