Dorothy Louise Perkins, 87, of St. Marys, WV, passed away March 24, 2020 at her home after a two year battle with inflammatory breast cancer.

Louise was born on June 22, 1932, at Macfarlan, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ross Bennett and Bessie Goodnight Fortney.

She was the last of 10 siblings: Gladys, William, Charlie, Woodrow, Mildred Beatrice, Geraldine, Jack, Kathleen, and Tracy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl Dewitt Perkins and her beloved son, Deryl.

She was a faithful Christian from an early age. She was a member of the Pennsboro Church of Christ until moving to St. Marys in 1982 where she was a faithful member at the Dewey Ave. Church of Christ.
She will always be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She dearly loved her family

She is survived by her daughter, Carla (Dave) Parks of St. Marys, WV and daughter in law, Judy Perkins of Newport, OH; four grandsons, Clay (Rhonda) Perkins of Newport, OH; Darren (Terri) Parks of St. Marys, WV; Drew (Megan) Parks of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Clint Perkins of Newport, OH.

Her seven great grandchildren were her pride and joy: Carrie, Amber, and Lane Perkins of Newport, OH; Addison and Desmond Parks of St. Marys, WV; Dylan and Audrey Parks of Myrtle Beach, SC.
She is also survived by two sisters-in law: Ruth (Bill) Perkins of Mountain, WV and Mabel Martin of Reno, OH.

She was very close to her nieces and nephews and enjoyed visiting with them by phone. She always looked forward to the annual Fortney family reunion.

The family would like to thank her caregivers for their loving care: Patricia Brown, Donna Bunner, Jennifer Elkins, and Addie Barnhart.
There will be a private graveside service for Louise at the Spring Hill Cemetery at Joseph’s Mills, WV. McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
