Ray David Whitlatch, 78, of Vienna passed away May 18, 2020 at the Parkersburg Care Center.
He was born on September 9, 1941 in Parkersburg, WV, one of twelve children of the late Ernest Franklin and Mabel Ruth Anderson Whitlatch.
David graduated from Parkersburg High School. He was a proud US Army Veteran serving with the 19th Engineers Battalion during Vietnam. He had served as assistant troop leader for Troop 124 in Deerwalk for several years and worked Demuth-Brockway-Owens Illinois Glass for twenty-three years before retiring.
David is survived by his sons Randy (Lisa) Whitlatch of Belpre, Scott (Amanda) Whitlatch of Vienna, six grandchildren Dale, Maryann, Jacob, Anthony, Jr., Benjamin, Dylan and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Glenna, Anna, Eddie, Joseph, Charles, Ernie, Paul Ardis, Adura, Gladys and Danny.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Herndon Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post #15.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 on Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
