WASHINGTON COUNTY, OH. (WTAP-The Ohio high school football playoffs kick off on Friday and once again the Fort Frye Cadets and Waterford Wildcats are in the hunt for a championship.
The Cadets will be hosting an opening round game in the Ohio Division VI Region 21 playoffs. They will faced Dalton High School on Friday night at 7 o'clock in Beverly.
The Cadets wrapped up their second straight perfect regular season with a 10-0 record to earn a number 3 seed in the regional. They'll take on a 6th seeded Dalton team from northern Ohio that is seeded sixth with a 9-1 record.
Fort Frye is headed to the playoffs for the 5th year in a row and last year Coach Eric Huck's team advanced all the way to the state semifinals.
The Waterford Wildcats are set to play an opening round game in the Division VII Region 27 playoffs.
The 4th seeded Wildcats will host the 5th seeded Shenandoah Zeps Saturday evening at 7 o'clock in Waterford.
Waterford checks in with an 8-2 record on the season, While the Zeps are 7-2.
This is the 4th year in a row that Waterford has advanced to the playoffs. Last year they advanced to the second round of the playoffs before bowing out.
