- It was the final Friday of the regular season in West Virginia and the first week of the playoffs in Ohio
Parkersburg South and Parkersburg High renewed their gridiron rivalry with the annual Crosstown Showdown.
The Patriots won the city bragging rights with a 49-14 victory over the Big Reds. The Patriots, under first year coach Nathan Tanner, close out the regular season with a 9-1 record and they should be in line for at least 2 home games in the first round of the playoffs
The Big Reds finish up the season at 5-5 and they're in line for a possible playoff berth as well
In week 1 of the playoffs in the Buckeye State, Fort Frye passes it's first test with a 48-39 win over Dalton High School in their Div. VI Region 21 playoff game..
The Cadets improve to 11-0 on the season and will play Mogadore in the second round.
Back to the Mountain State, the St. Marys Blue Devils keep chugging along they pullout a 43-34 victory to finish up the regular season at 8-2
The Doddridge County Bulldogs wrapped up a perfect 10-0 season with a 46-7 victory on the road at Tygarts Valley
The Ritchie County Rebels run their record to 9-1 with a 48-12 victory over Calhoun.
In Jackson County's annual "Battle for the Hatchet", The Ripley Vikings defeated the Ravenswood Red Devils 36-0.
