WTAP SPORTS- Week 5 of the high school football season featured a renewal of the oldest rivalry in the Mid Ohio Valley.
Marietta hosted Parkersburg in the 114th meeting of these 2 river rivals.
The Big Reds won bragging rights for this year, downing their rivals 41-28

Parkersburg South won big on the road in Moundsville in a battle of 2 Class AAA teams ranked in the top 16.
The Patriots powered past the Monarchs of John Marshall 35-7

Parkersburg Catholic put it's perfect record on the line in Gilmer County. And the Crusaders run their record to a perfect 5-0 with a 44-7 victory

Williamstown rolls on the road at Buffalo 66-13

Fort Frye's run of perfection continued. The Cadets defeated Monroe Central 53-0

Waterford downs TVC rival Miller 47-6

Warren falls at home to Union 19-13

The Belpre Golden Eagles win a 55-41 shootout with Southern

The St. Marys Blue Devils break into the win column for the first time this season downing Calhoun County 42-24

And in a Route 50 rivalry, Doddridge County downs Ritchie County 41-12
