-Week number 5 of the high school football season featured local teams playing in rivalry games and trying to extend winning streaks.

The Parkersburg High Big Reds hosted the Marietta Tigers in the 116th renewal of the Mid Ohio Valley's oldest rivalry. The Big Reds would win this round of the the rivalry with a 42-21 victory over the Tigers

The Parkersburg South Patriots ran their winning streak to 5 in a row. The Patriots powered past John Marshall 56-14 in front of the home folks at Erickson

Two Washington County teams were also looking to continue their run of perfection.

Division VI powerhouse Fort Frye wins on the road at Monroe Central 41-0. The Cadets are a perfect 5-0 on the season

The Frontier Cougars also run their record to 5-0 with a 47-13 win at home over Magnolia

Williamstown reels of it's 4th win in a row, downing Buffalo at home 37-7

Waterford brings down the Miller Falcons 46-7 to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Belpre comes up with a big win on the road at Southern 46-20

St. Marys bounces back with a 35-20 win at Calhoun County
