PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP)- Kelsey Goots will extend her softball career to the college level, and she will play in familiar territory.
Goots signed a letter of intent accepting a softball scholarship at Ohio Valley University.
She pitched and played in the outfield for Parkersburg High, earning second-team All-State and All-Mountain State Athletic Conference honors.
In her senior season, Goots racked up 98 strikeouts and had a .425 batting average.
"It means a lot to me because I've always wanted to go to college and continue career playing since I was a little girl," Goots said at her signing ceremony.
"To get to play with my two friends, Alyssa and Riley and continue my career with them means a lot."
She has plans to pursue a career in early childhood education.
