PARKERSBURG, W.VA.(WTAP)-The stage is set for the 2019 News & Sentinel Half Marathon.
More than a thousand runners are expected to take part in the 13.1 mile half marathon and the 2 mile fun run on Saturday.
The half marathon starts at 8:00 on Third and Juliana Streets, makes it way through the downtown area before crossing the Little Kanawha river into the south side of town.. The runners will cross over the 5th Street bridge back into the downtown area and finish up at 6th and Market Streets.
Registration was held Friday at the Parkersburg Municipal building, and runners loaded up on carbohydrates at the annual pasta dinner at the St. Francis Xavier parish hall on Market St.
