VINCENT, OH. (WTAP SPORTS)- Matt Kimes has been around high school football as a fan, a player, and as an assistant coach for just about his entire life. And now he's getting an opportunity to run his own program.
Kimes was introduced as the new head of the Warren Warriors Tuesday afternoon by athletic director Steve Harold.
The Parkersburg native was chosen over a field of 22 candidates for the job. He replaces Dan Day, who left to accept a head coaching job on the college level.
Kimes has 14 years experience as an assistant coach, and for the last 6 years he was the offensive coordinator for the Parkersburg South patriots
He believes that experience has him ready to take the next step in his career and he's grateful for the opportunity he has with the Warren Warriors
