Mountaineers and Thundering Herd hit camp.

MORGANTOWN, HUNINGTON W.VA.(WTAP)- West Virginia's two D-1 football programs began their pre-season football camps on Friday.

The Neal Brown era is underway at West Virginia University. Brown put the Mountaineers through their first workout on a warm morning in Morgantown.

Brown will and his coaches will have several holes to fill in the starting lineup as they get the team ready for another season of Big 12 football.

WVU opens the season at home on Aug. 31 against James Madison

In Huntington, Marshall University's Thundering Herd is beginning a 10th season under the guidance of Coach Doc Holliday.

Holliday as a wealth of talent from last year's team, including starting quarterback Isaiah Green and the entire front four on the offensive line.

Marshall is picked to win it all in Conference USA this year for a shot of extending the nation's longest Bowl winning streak to 8 in a row.

The Thundering Herd opens up the season on Aug. 31 at home against VMI.
