MARIETTA, OH. (WTAP)- Lexie Mullen has just wrapped up a successful soccer career for the Marietta Tigers, and her talents are taking her to college on a scholarship.
Lexie is headed to West Liberty University to join the Hilltopper's women's soccer program.
She signed her letter of intent Thursday afternoon in the Sutton Gymnasium, accepting the scholarship offer from the NCAA Division II school in West Virginia's northern panhandle.
The Hilltoppers are getting a good one. Lexie played forward and is a two time first team All Ohio player in Division 1 soccer. And she's earned conference and district Player of the Year honors as well.
She leaves Marietta as the school's all time goal scorer with 93, and she owns the single season scoring record with 29 goals.
Lexie credits her time at Marietta High for her development in sport and academics, and believes West Liberty is a perfect fit for future success.
