PARKERSBURG, W. VA. (WTAP)- Nicole Kittrell-Hughart has decided to continue her playing days at Ohio Valley University on a softball scholarship.
Kittrell-Hughart seeks to play first base for the Lady Scots.
She wrapped up her high school career at Parkersburg High School as a captain, helping lead the Lady Big Reds to three straight sectional titles and a third place finish in the Mountain State Athletic Conference tournament.
Kittrell-Hughart prides herself in being energetic and a teammate that brings that spark that can get a team going.
She has been instrumental in the Big Reds' success and strives to be a leader on and off the field.
Kittrell-Hughart said this is truly a special day for her.
"It's amazing. I can't describe it in words. It's just so great," Kittrell-Hughart said.
"I didn't think I was actually going to make it this far. I didn't think I'd sign with a college for a sport I've been playing. So it's pretty amazing."
