PARKERSBURG, W.VA. (WTAP-TV)- Parkersburg South wrestler Braxton Amos has a decided to accept a scholarship offer from the University of Wisconsin.
Amos revealed his decision on a scoreboard video before Parkersburg South’s football game against Athens on Friday night.
Amos is one of the top wrestling prospects in the nation and has been highly recruited . He chose Wisconsin over Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech. and Oklahoma State.
He wrestles in the 220 pound weight class and has never been beaten on a high school mat.
Amos is the 2 time defending Class AAA state champion and is the Dutton Award winner as the “Wrestler of the Year” in West Virginia.
He's also been a champion in national and international wrestling competition.
Amos is an excellent student as well, and chose Wisconsin for it’s academics, athletics and atmosphere on the Madison campus.
