PARKERSBURG, W.VA. (WTAP)- Several local teams continue to be in the playoff picture in the WV high school computer ratings released Tuesday. The Parkersburg South Patriots remain in third place in the Class AAA rankings. The Patriots are a perfect 7-0 on the season after pulling out a late victory on the road at Morgantown last Friday. This week coach Nathan Tanner and his Patriots return home to take on a Greenbrier East team that is 5-2 and is ranked 7th in the state. The Parkersburg Big Reds are ranked 12th in the Class AAA ratings. The Big Reds are 4-3 and are coming off of an explosive offensive performance in last Friday's win over George Washington. They're home again this week against Spring Mills. Defending state champion Martinsburg continues to be ranked number 1 in Class AAA with Cabell Midland ranked second In Class A, Doddridge County now has the number 1 ranking to itself. The Bulldogs are 7-0 and have had at least a share of first place for the last 3 weeks. The Ritchie County Rebels are the third rated team in Class A. The Rebels are 6-1, with their only loss coming to Doddridge The Williamstown Yellowjackets check in at 4th place. The Yellowjackets are riding a 7 game winning streak as part of their 7-1 record. They're back in action on Saturday against traditional rival Parkersburg Catholic. The St. Marys Blue Devils moved up to 8th place in the standings. The 5-2 Blue Devils are coming offf of a win over Magnolia and will be at home against 12th ranked South Harrison. Parkersburg Catholic is rated 14th. The 5-3 crusaders dropped 3 notches after a close loss to a Pendleton County team that was tied for the top spot a week ago. At the end of the season, the top 16 teams in each class make the playoffs.
