WV high school football ratings- Oct. 1
Mid Ohio Valley teams continue to be in the playoff picture West Virginia high school football.
In Class AAA, the Parkersburg South Patriots continue to be ranked third in the big school division. The Patriots are coming off of a 56-14 victory over John Marshall last week. South will face it's biggest test of the season on Friday on the road at 6th rated Huntington.
The Parkersburg High Big Reds check in at number 11. The Big Reds are 3-2 after a home win over Marietta on Friday. They have a bye this week.
The Ripley Vikings are ranked 17t h this week.
Cabell Midland is number 1 in Class AAA followed by defending state champion Martinsburg and Parkersburg South.
In Class A, the Doddridge County Bulldogs remain in second with an undefeated 4-0 record. The Williamstown Yellowjackets pull down 7th place. The 'Jackets are riding a 4 game winning streak in their 4-1 overall record.
The St. Marys Blue Devils are right behind them in 8th place with a 3-1 mark. St. Marys is getting set to host Williamstown on Friday.
The Ritchie County Rebels fall from third to ninth place following their first loss of the season at Doddridge.
Parkersburg Catholic is ranked 15th. Tyler is 20th, Ravenswood is tied for 22nd, and Wirt County is 25th.
Pendleton remains the top ranked team inthe small school division.
In Class AA. Fairmont is number 1, followed by Keyser, Oak Glen, Poca and Wyoming East.
Roane County is ranked 22.
At the end of the season, the top 16 teams in each class advance to the Playoffs.
