WV high school football ratings

WTAP SPORTS- The second ratings of the West Virginia high school football season were released Tuesday. The Mid Ohio Valley is well represented.

Parkersburg South remains at #3 in the Class AAA ranks. The Patriots are a perfect 4-0 through the first month of the season.

The 2-2 Parkersburg Big Reds check in at #11 this week. That's a drop of 3 positions from a week ago.

In Class A, The undefeated Ritchie County Rebels move up to second place in the small school division. The Rebels got a big ratings boost for knocking off the former top ranked team St. Marys last week.

The Blue Devils slip down to 7th place after suffering their first loss.

Doddridge County is ranked third in Class A. The Bull Dogs are set to host archrival Ritchie County this Thursday night in a battle of unbeaten teams.

The Williamstown Yellowjackets are ranked 8th this week on the strength of their 3-1 record.

Parkersburg Catholic and Wirt County are tied for 19th place.

The top rated team in Class A is Pendleton County. Fairmont is #1 in Class AA, with Cabell Midland topping the list in Class AAA.

At the end of the season, the top 16 teams in each Class advance to the playoffs
