PARKERSBURG, W.VA (WTAP)- Athletes from Parkersburg South and Parkersburg High will be going for individual and team glory at the West Virginia High School Wrestling tournament in Huntington.
The tournament begins it's 3 day run at the Big Sandy Arena on Thursday evening.
Parkersburg South is poised to defend the it's crown and win the Class AAA championship for the fifth year in a row.
Coach Shaun Smith's Patriots qualified someone in all 14 classes and are sending seven Regional Champions to the tournament
Parkersburg High also has good representation at state. Coach Matt Littleton is sending a 10 man contingent to state, including 2 Regional Champions
Opening round matches get underway on Thursday. Quarterfinal and semifinal rounds are set for Friday. Then the main event is Saturday night with the Finals in 14 classes.
