Wrestlers returning to Parkersburg as All-Americans

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (WTAP)- Several area wrestlers are returning to Parkersburg as All-Americans after national competitions.

Many wrestlers competed in the National High School Coaches Association Wrestling Nationals in Virginia.

138-pound sophomore John Martin best from Parkersburg High is the national runner-up in that class. He completed an impressive run as an All-American in a field that started with 104 wrestlers.

Parkersburg High senior Stephen Carder claimed sixth place in the nation and earned All-American honors.

Parkersburg South junior heavyweight Louden Haga is the national runner-up following an 8-6 decision.

132-pound sophomore Brayden Roberts takes home seventh place via forfeit by Utah's Stockton O'Brien.

106-pound sophomore Samantha Miller from Parkersburg South competed in the USA Wrestling Girls Folkstyle National Championships in Oklahoma. Samantha claimed eighth place in the field, capturing All-American honors.
