PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Downtown PKB invited guest and board members to it’s annual meeting to discuss a year in review of accomplishments, introduce the new board for 2025, and to give out awards.

The awards presented at the meeting were for Person of the Year, Business of the Year, and the Curb Appeal award.

Amanda Stevens, the executive director for Downtown PKB, explains how winners are picked out.

“We’re so proud of the winners,” Stevens sai. “We ask our board members to nominate winners each year and that’s how we choose the winners. We ask them to submit a sentence or two ,and who they think would be good candidates. That’s where we get our from for who wins the award each year.”

This year’s winners include;

Person of the Year: Bob Fehrenbacher

Business of the Year: Sips Coffee Truck

Curb Appeal: Jan Dils, Attorneys At Law

Representatives from Sips and Jan Dils, Attorneys At Law talked about what the award meant for them being active in the community.

“I would say one of the things I’m most proud of is seeing my wife and our assistant come into empty parking lots and empty vacant buildings for people to come out have drinks, sharing laughs, sharing stories and building a community,” said Eric D. Allaman with Sips Coffee Truck.

“We really appreciate Downtown PKB acknowledging us for our curb appeal,” said Eric Hillyard-Poling with Jan Dils, Attorneys At Law. “It’s a core value of the firm to give back to the community. Being acknowledged for taking care of the downtown area and helping beautify anyway we can is certainly appreciative for that acknowledgement.”
